Ft. Snelling gage house

This pier and catwalk upstream of Ft. Snelling contains a gage house, beneath which the new high-tech Acoustic Doppler Velocity Meter (ADVM) and a special thermometer are submersed. Readings are transmitted via satellite to the USGS’s Mounds View office and published to the web.
