USGS boat used to conduct mixing study

USGS mixing study

Using boats like this, the USGS is conducting, both last summer and this, a mixing study, which measures vertical and lateral differences in turbidity, oxygen, temperature, pH, and conductivity. Results to date show that a decrease in dissolved oxygen may start to appear at flows under 1200 cfs. Photo courtesy of USGS.
