Sandstone dam exhibit

Plunk in the middle of the mini-golf course, this exhibit is a hands-on demo of how dams work — and how they cease to work well once sediment builds up in the reservoir. Tens of thousands of dams in the US may be approaching the end of their useful life. Here the visitor can raise the dam gate and watch the sediment flow downriver. The exhibit box will tilt then in the other direction, and sediment will build up in the new reservoir.
