RESIDENTIAL SALT USE SURVEY: PLEASE PARTICIPATE!
Every winter, icy state residents pour salt on their sidewalks and driveways. We usually do so without thinking too much about it. We do want to prevent falls, after all, and nasty sprains or broken bones.
This year, the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA) is conducting a research project to understand how homeowners use salt on their sidewalks and drives. The agency's Chloride Project will use the data to better understand our salt use and better proect our freshwater systems.
The research project relies primarily on a nine-question survey of homeowner salt usage practices. Please fill out this form at this URL: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/5XCSJWP.
Thanks so much for your participation. We will follow up the survey by relaying information on results.
